There are reports online that Clenziderm for Oily Skin isn’t available anymore. But we have it on good authority that this is not true!

How do we know? Because we asked Obagi Medical Products directly and they assured us that Normal to Oily Clenziderm still being sold, however there are some changes. The serum gel formerly used in the oily set up is now replaced with the the Therapeutic Moisturizer.

Let’s start with the actual answer first – get rid acne by getting rid of the infection under the skin that is causing it. How do you clean a red infected cut that is showing signs of white pus? You use hydrogen peroxide.

Ever Put Peroxide On An Infection?

Why did we compare an infected cut to a pimple? Because pimples are nothing more than a bacterial infection, the same as if you cut your finger and the cut gets infected. It’s weird to think about it this way because it’s not talked about this way, but it’s really as simple as that.

Remember the signs of infection? Redness…swelling…white discharge… Sound like a pimple?

If Benzoyl Peroxide Works, Why Isn’t Acne Cured?

The facial version of hydrogen peroxide is benzoyl peroxide. Most of us have heard of benzoyl peroxide because it’s mentioned on every acne commercial ever shown on TV.

There’s only one problem with the benzoyl peroxide in these products that are always advertised. It doesn’t work that great. If it did, we’d only need to buy those medicated pads once, wipe them across our face and our acne would be done. Doesn’t work that way, does it?

It’s Because It’s Too Big

Actually it’s not the chemical that’s the problem. Peroxides are good at fight the bacteria that causes infections. The problem is that the molecules in normal benzoyl peroxide are too big to get under the surface of the skin. So the medicine helps fight acne a little once it’s broken through to the surface but it doesn’t prevent pimples from ever getting that big in the first place.

Basically you’re treating acne after the fact rather than preventing it.
